Windsor Public Schools’ SEL Specialist Featured in “Voices from the Field” Webinar on June 30

Aperture Education webinar focuses on the role of the district’s SEL specialist and showcases an SEL activity that participants can use in their schools

When it comes to best practices for social and emotional learning (SEL) in schools, it helps to go right to the source. Aperture Education will host a free webinar on June 30, 2022, offering a sneak peek at SEL in action at Windsor Public Schools in Connecticut. The webinar will feature SEL Specialist Elyssa Kotler, who will discuss her role and how she supports students and the schools she works in. Kotler will also walk participants through an SEL activity they can use when their schools reconvene in the fall. The webinar takes place at 1:30 p.m. (ET). “When it comes to social and emotional learning, it’s helpful to get information and examples from others who are doing it every day,” said Aperture Education CEO Jessica Adamson. “This webinar will connect participants with Windsor Public Schools’ SEL specialist Elyssa Kotler for an insider’s look at what she does. It offers a great opportunity for participants to obtain insight from someone in the field and also to get ideas for SEL activities they can use in their own classrooms.”

Aperture Education’s webinars help to connect participants with school leaders, teachers, SEL specialists, and experts to share SEL examples and best practices. Offering free webinars is one of the ways Aperture supports educators, administrators, parents, and out-of-school time programs in promoting SEL in classrooms and at home. The company provides the DESSA SEL assessment and the EdSERT professional development program for teachers. It also hosts an SEL Summit and offers free downloadable resources for educators and families. To learn more about Aperture Education, visit https://apertureed.com/.
